STa'“M is an acronym for the holy writings of the Jewish people - Sifrei Torah, Mezuzahs, and Tefillin. These sanctified productions are written by trained professional scribes, who invest hours of concentration in their meticulous and sometimes tedious work with the hopes to produce gorgeous works of art that will elevate the spiritual level of a person’s life and home.

The scribe (or Sofer STa”m) implements use of a special quill, perfectly carved, and specially made ink to help him make the thousands of subtle movements on parchment made from cow’s hide (as they are only able to use the hide from kosher animals) necessary for his holy undertaking.

Here is a preview of all the letters of STa”M and the sequence of how to write them. For your enlightenment we have attached a few pictures of beautiful parshios of tefillin, to give you a little understanding of what things are supposed to look like.
